Police Violence - is it acceptable?

Police violence is strongly increasing all over the world, not only in Namibia. If we just accept it as being normal and don't do something against it, it will only get worse. If we don't speak out against it, it will be seen as being in agreement with it. Do you really agree with it?  If not, then be heard, don't just keep quiet.

The incident of police violence against Belinda //Garoës in December 2013, a woman in the Okahandja community, is a gross violation of the Namibian Constitution. Yet not one of our newspapers mentioned it with a single word. This is indicative of the fact that we, the people are being told lies by those who are supposed to inform us, therefore we cannot trust them. How many of such incidences are kept secret, hidden from our knowledge?
The question arises: WHY are they lying to us?
Is it only carelessness on the side of the reporters or a secret conspiracy against we, the people?
Are they trying to subtly influence us to accept bad as good and good as bad?
A person who dares to speak up against what is wrong in the community is described as a troublemaker. For whom does she make trouble? Surely for those who violate our constitutional rights. But that is portrayed as bad.

Resistance against arrest is portrayed as bad and has become a punishable act, even though Article 7,8 and 11(1) of our Constitution guarantees us personal liberty, respect for human dignity and protection against arbitrary arrests (marked by or resulting from the unrestrained and often tyrannical exercise of power). This proves that we are being conditioned to accept any unrestrained exercise of power. Where will that end? Is it not in Dictatorship?

Are you just closing your eyes to what is going on around you for the sake of your personal peace and security? Or do you agree with such obvious violations of our rights and such blatant conditioning of our minds?

Our actions and our opinions are shaping the world around us. We create our own circumstances in life. I appeal to you to become a creator for a better world by speaking up, commenting and discussing right here on this blog and wherever else you are allowed to do so. Start being the change you want to see around you.

HERE is an interesting article asking if the police is one of the mental casualties of the New World Order.
